The advantages of biomedical packaging mainly include the following aspects:

Enhance product image and enhance product competitiveness: Innovative pharmaceutical packaging can improve the image and value of products, so that consumers have a better sense of trust and recognition of drugs, thereby increasing the uniqueness and differentiation of products, and making products more competitive in the market.

Protecting drug safety: Biomedical packaging needs to be moisture-proof, dust-proof, anti-oxidation and other functions to ensure the safety of drugs during transportation and storage. For example, prefillable syringe packaging is mostly in the form of glass, but the protein compatibility in glass has always been problematic, and the use of plastics such as COP or COC can better protect protein drugs.

Chemically stable: Some materials such as COP bottles have very good chemical resistance, can tolerate drugs with a pH value greater than 0, and will not produce delamination when loading alkaline drugs, providing better protection for drugs.

Low protein adsorption: COP bottles use cyclic olefin polymer as raw material, and the low surface energy and hydrophobicity of the material itself endow the packaging with low protein adsorption characteristics, which can improve the utilization rate of drugs and reduce enterprise costs.

Low temperature resistance: Some packaging materials such as COP bottles have stable performance in the environment of -96°C-+2°C, which meets the needs of low-temperature storage of cell-based drugs.

Irradiation sterilization is not easy to change color: biological drugs are generally sterilized by irradiation after filling, and ordinary glass bottles will be yellowed and difficult to recover after irradiation sterilization, affecting the product image. COP bottles will not change color after irradiation sterilization, which effectively enhances the image of the product.

Convenience and safety: The prefillable syringe is convenient and fast to pack, with high dosage accuracy, reduced microbial contamination, high safety, and can reduce the amount of drug used and reduce production costs.

These advantages make biomedical packaging have significant effects in protecting drug safety, enhancing product image and competitiveness, and also meet the high requirements of modern consumers for drug packaging.
